The Emirates Cancer Society held its 2026 Annual Gathering on the evening of Friday, 26 June 2026, at the Nadwa Culture and Science venue in Dubai. The event was attended by H.E. Mohammed Ahmed Al Murr, Member of the Board of Trustees of the Emirates Literature Foundation, Chairman of the Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum Library Foundation, and Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the Mohammed Bin Rashid Arabic Language Award.

The gathering brought together society members, government and private sector supporters, strategic partners, and volunteers in a warm, family-oriented atmosphere celebrating collaboration and appreciation.

The annual event reflects the Society’s commitment to strengthening relationships with its partners, highlighting its key humanitarian achievements and initiatives, and recognizing those who have contributed to its mission of supporting cancer patients and promoting community awareness.

The event was attended by H.E. Sheikh Dr. Salem Mohammed Bin Rukad Al Ameri, Chairman of the Emirates Cancer Society; H.E. Dr. Mohammed Salem Al Mazrouei, Board Member of the Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum Library Foundation and former Secretary-General of the Federal National Council; Dr. Adam Mohammed Al Blooshi, Executive Director of the Society; as well as Board Members H.E. Mohammed Al Dhahouri, Dr. Shafea Al Neyadi, and Dr. Fatima Issa. A number of dignitaries, media representatives, community leaders, partners, and supporters also attended.

The ceremony began with the UAE National Anthem, followed by a recitation from the Holy Quran. H.E. Sheikh Dr. Salem Mohammed Bin Rukad Al Ameri welcomed the guests, emphasizing that the Society’s achievements are the result of teamwork and collective dedication. He also expressed his appreciation for the continued support of the Society’s partners and sponsors in advancing its humanitarian mission and serving cancer patients.

Dr. Adam Mohammed Al Blooshi then delivered a visual presentation showcasing the Society’s key programs, initiatives, and activities over the past year, highlighting their positive humanitarian and social impact, achievements in supporting patients, raising awareness, and promoting volunteerism.

One of the evening’s highlights was the "Inspirational Stories" segment, which featured real-life stories of courage, resilience, and hope. These moving experiences left a lasting impression on attendees, reinforcing the message that determination can overcome challenges and inspire hope.

The gathering also included an awards ceremony honoring distinguished individuals, organizations, and supporting entities in recognition of their outstanding contributions to the Society’s programs and initiatives, reflecting the Society’s commitment to community partnership.

The event concluded with a group photograph featuring H.E. Mohammed Ahmed Al Murr, the Society’s Chairman and Board Members, honorees, volunteers, and attendees, symbolizing unity, solidarity, and the shared commitment to supporting the Emirates Cancer Society’s mission and serving the community.
